There are travelers who collect coins.
There are travelers who collect stories.
There are travelers who collect dragon names.
The last group tends to be the most interesting.
And occasionally the most alarming.
The Sixteen are not merely powerful creatures.
They are landmarks.
Mysteries.
Witnesses.
Questions wearing scales.
Entire libraries have been written about them.
Entire careers devoted to them.
Entire mistakes made because of them.
The entries that follow represent the best available knowledge.
This does not guarantee correctness.
Indeed, several dragons would likely object to portions of these descriptions.
A few would object to all of them.
Such disagreements are unavoidable.
The alternative would require interviewing dragons for editorial approval.
