Why the Hall has a policy at all
Cordelia's line is inside the door: “To be remembered is not to be regarded.” The Hall's job is to remember. The Hall's job is not to host arguments, slurs, threats, advertisements, or anyone's real-world religion brought in as a flag.
That is why Helonor keeps a desk and the desk has a doctrine. The policy below describes what the desk refuses. The desk does not refund. The contribution is the contribution; the inscription is the inscription.
What the desk refuses
- Profanity and slurs. In any language Helonor can recognize, and in the obvious spelling tricks. This includes slurs aimed at any race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender, or disability.
- Real-world religions by name. Not because the Hall is hostile to belief, but because the Hall belongs to walkers of every kind, and a name on the wall is forever. The realm has its own faiths and figures; use those if you want to mention faith at all.
- Threats and calls to harm. Of any kind, against any person or group.
- Links and addresses. The Hall is not a marketplace. No URLs, no shop names, no email addresses, no phone numbers.
- Personal information. Yours or anyone else's. Real-world surnames are fine; full doxxes are not.
- Promotion. Of products, services, campaigns, or causes — political or commercial. Pell's rule: “If it reads like a sign on a stall, it goes back.”
What the desk likes
- · A line that sounds like it could be carved.
- · A name, given honestly.
- · An origin, real or chosen.
- · A short remembrance.
- · A small joke, if it ages well.
- · Silence, if that's what you want.
How review works
When you submit, the desk runs a first reading. If your inscription contains anything the policy refuses, the form will tell you immediately and not let you send. This first reading is imperfect; it errs on the side of refusal. If something gets through, Helonor reads it next.
Helonor reads every inscription, in the order it arrives, within fourteen days. If she has a question she sends a note. If she places your name, it appears on the Hall. If she refuses, your name is not placed and your contribution is not returned. Cordelia's hand was steady on that line.
The Founders' Bell
The Bell costs nothing. Any walker may ring it once per day for someone they wish to remember. The Bell's ledger is private and never published. Some of the Hall's best remembering happens there.
The three lines that bind the Hall
- No gameplay advantage. Magda's first red line. A founder's coin does not move dice.
- Cordelia's name is not for sale. Her chamber stays unsigned. Her shop stays unsigned. The Anthology bears her name only as a contributor.
- The lowest tier is honored equally. A Whisper is recorded with the same chisel as a Statue. The size of the lettering differs because the room does. The respect does not.
Out-of-realm note (for the avoidance of doubt)
This is a campaign reward for an indie tabletop project. All submissions are reviewed by a human (Chad and, in voice, “Helonor”). The automated filter is conservative on purpose. If your inscription is flagged or refused, your contribution is not refunded. By contributing, you accept this policy.
